The Warehouse Associate is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Prepare, examine and pack outbound product, ensuring quality and accuracy in all phases of shipping.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Assist with multiple tasks as needed in the warehouse.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
A must…
- Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
- OSHA Forklift Certification required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Availability to work periodic weekends.
- Proficient in Spreadsheet and Word Processing Software.
- Proficient in Shipping and Receiving Software.
- Preferred licensed forklift operator.
Physical Requirements…
- Warehouse environment.
- Frequent heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate and occasionally loud.
