Capital City Club - Crabapple is searching for a dedicated, self-motivated, and collaborative individual to join our Culinary Department as a Kitchen Steward. In this full-time position, you'll enjoy an hourly rate, health, vision, life, and dental insurance, a 401(k) with a company match, complimentary hot meals, and provided uniforms. This role offers great cross-training opportunities on several kitchen stations.
What Sets Us Apart?
Our culinary schedule is unique, with the kitchen open from 7 am to 7 pm daily, except during special events. Your typical 8-hour workday will conveniently fall within this timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs necessary clean-up (ie., mopping, cleaning walls) and sanitation activities for the food preparation and dishwashing areas.
- Cleans china, glassware, silverware cooking utensils, and pots as needed using the dish machine.
- Performs minimum food preparation duties when available to assist the cooks.
- Maintains a current stock of china, silverware, and plastic glasses to the employee breakroom.
- Assists with bussing of banquet functions as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Strong English language and professional communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Dedication to delivering quality service
- Comfort with standing throughout the entire shift.
- Occasional exposure to environmental factors like cold, heat, and water.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Ability to understand basic cooking directions, as this is a member-facing role.
