Job Summary:
The Logistics/Transportation Analytics Manager is responsible for the management and execution of DPI enterprise logistics operations. This role will work alongside the Logistics and Supply Chain teams, auditing freight invoices and analyzing the entire DPI freight expenditure while also providing forward and reverse logistical support to increase overall customer satisfaction. This role will assist in the planning and implementation of logistics strategies, guidelines, and procedures that support DPI's short and long-term business needs while also acting as a resource for additional Supply Chain activities.
This position will provide logistics cost modeling analysis and focus on the optimization of costs while providing a high level of communication throughout the company.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with DPI and customer carriers to deliver products to internal and external customers.
- Audit incoming freight invoices and approve/reject/modify as needed.
- Provide DPI with cost avoidance through freight invoice auditing.
- Assist in the development of annual freight expense budgets and reconcile actual to plan monthly.
- Conduct analyses, prepare presentations, and recommendations in support of the entire logistics team to drive efficiency and minimize the overall freight operating cost.
- Analyze and compare rates between multiple carriers with comparable service levels to create the most optimal shipping routing rules.
- Participate and assist in annual carrier contract negotiations with various carriers.
- Drive ad-hoc carrier contract negotiations and assist in the calculation of any new customer pricing requests.
- Provide clear and concise budgeted variance explanation promptly to Sales, Finance, and upper management.
- Work closely with Sales and Operations Management teams to ensure efficient and timely support of both customer orders and logistics’ goals and objectives.
- Drive and complete various logistics-related projects concurrently.
- Provide day-to-day shipping system-related technical support and resolution.
- Monitor and enforce DPI export trade compliance matters.
- Provide logistics subject matter expertise to internal and external customers.
- Provide training and continuous support for DPI’s shipping system.
- Work with sales, production, IT, and engineer on deployment of the right shipping box and carrier mix.
- Continuously work towards shipping optimizations through packaging, carrier routings, and internal shipping programs.
- Establish key logistics metrics and continuous strategies across the supply chain to ensure the best delivery costs and meet customer service levels.
- Liaison with Procurement and cross train as an additional support resource where required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Data and metric-driven working style with the ability to validate the success or failure of logistics/supply chain operations.
- Familiar with global logistics and supply chain network modeling.
- Experience in transportation routing software or ERP systems (ConnectShip, Infoship, MercuryGate, SAP, Oracle, Business Central etc.) a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, logistics, or supply chain highly preferred.
- Equivalent of 3 to 5 years of related Logistics’ or Supply Chain operations experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of transportation with special emphasis on working with small parcels.
