Instructional Designer

This is a flexible position and has the option of working in our Toronto office full time, hybrid throughout the week or working entirely remotely.
Vena Solutions is looking for a passionate Instructional Designer to help create technical product training content that drives the success of our clients and enables them to understand our platform. This role will work in partnership with the team’s Product Training Specialists and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to be responsible for the on-going design, development, and maintenance of current and future training programs of both online and instructor-led training content for internal and external groups. What you will do:

  • Work with key stakeholders and SMEs to understand learning needs and source relevant learning content 
  • Design, develop and maintain engaging eLearning programs on the Vena Solutions product using best practices in instructional design to enhance internal and external group skill sets 
  • Assess, evaluate, and propose solution plans to continually iterate and  improve learning development and production processes 
  • Develop new and maintain existing eLearning templates to streamline the development of online training programs 
  • Create course assessments aligned with Vena's objectives to evaluate and improve customer and employee impact, usage and effectiveness of implemented training solutions initiatives to improve customer and employee usage & accessibility of existing learning programs and resources 
  • Ensure on-going usability of the Learning Management System (LMS) by working with Training Coordinator to upload, troubleshoot, and complete user acceptance testing of online courses and course assessments 
  • Other task/activities as assigned

Does this sound like you?:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer designing and  developing classroom and eLearning content for technology solutions 
  • Efficiency with applications such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate RISE, Camtasia/Adobe, Photoshop or Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) and performing basic administrative functions 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technology in a clear, concise, and effective manner for a wide range of audiences 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet timelines and milestones 
  • Eagerness to learn and proven ability to quickly adapt and learn new  software programs 
  • Technical writing and video editing experience preferred 
  • Degree or diploma in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Curriculum Development, related field or equivalent work experience are an asset
