The
Equipment and Reliability Manager will spearhead the installation, maintenance, and optimization of all automation equipment within our cannabis beverage manufacturing facility. This role involves strategic oversight of equipment performance, leading operator training initiatives, driving continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of equipment enhancements, and proactively researching and recommending new technologies to maximize manufacturing efficiencies. The Equipment and Reliability Manager will also play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and contributing to the overall operational strategy.

What You’ve Done:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in installing, maintaining, and optimizing high-speed packaging equipment, specifically within canning and bottling environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) strongly preferred, or equivalent extensive technical training and demonstrated experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing CAD drawings is a plus
- Significant experience with brewery equipment, bottling, and canning lines, including a deep understanding of their operational nuances and optimization strategies.
- Proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and implementing new automation technologies that have resulted in measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Experience developing and leading preventative maintenance programs and implementing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Lead and direct all repairs, maintenance, and optimization efforts for critical cannabis beverage production and packaging equipment, including weigh scales, labeling machines, pressurized storage vessels, beverage filling machines, cappers, sleeving units, steam tunnels, date coders, conveyor belts, cartoners, and other automated systems.
- Collaborate strategically with other technical teams and production leadership to ensure optimal equipment performance, consistently meeting or exceeding output and uptime targets.
- Oversee and manage changeover procedures, implementing best practices to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Maintain meticulous and comprehensive documentation of all repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment modifications within designated systems.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules and reliability programs for all packaging machinery, ensuring long-term operational stability.
- Champion and enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, actively contributing to the development and implementation of enhanced safety protocols as a key member of the safety committee.
- Proactively identify, research, evaluate, and recommend cutting-edge automation solutions and emerging technologies to significantly enhance the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing processes, developing business cases and ROI analyses to support recommendations.
- Mentor and train junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize overall manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, and move throughout the manufacturing facility as required to oversee operations and projects.
- Able to stretch, twist, turn, bend, grasp, push, pull.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, and confined spaces.
