Reporting to the Director of Distribution Center, the Distribution Center Inventory Control Manager will oversee the accuracy and efficiency of all inbound inventory processes and manage value-added services (VAS) operations within the warehouse. This role ensures that all goods are received, processed, stored, and prepared in accordance with company and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will lead a team, maintain system accuracy, and ensure service excellence for custom packaging, labeling, kitting, and other client-specific VAS.Essential Job FunctionsInbound Operations:
- Coordinate and manage all incoming shipments, including scheduling, unloading, verification, and system receiving
- Ensure accurate inspection, documentation, and storage of incoming goods
- Communicate with procurement, logistics providers, and vendors regarding delivery schedules and discrepancies
- Maintain real-time inventory updates in the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Supervise put-away processes to maximize space utilization and stock accuracy
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and resolve variances
- Implement inventory control policies and audit procedures
- Maintain high inventory accuracy and integrity across all storage locations
- Generate reports on inventory KPIs and recommend improvements
- Execute destruction process and governance of idle inventory upon approval.
- Investigates physical inventory discrepancies and correct to ensure alignment between our inventory system and the physical inventory. Reports on inventory activities and variances. Analyzes all proposed inventory adjustments within the system and recommend action.
- Identifies the root cause of any inventory discrepancies and communicates the cause to the VP of Distribution and Director of Finance and DC management, or other cross-functional members of the ABH leadership team.
- Works with Safety and Loss Prevention Manager to minimize shrinkage in the distribution center.
Value-Added Services (VAS):
- Manage daily VAS activities including kitting, relabeling, repacking, and customization
- Coordinate with account managers and clients on specific service needs
- Track materials, labor, and turnaround time for VAS tasks to ensure cost efficiency
- Ensure VAS tasks meet internal and client quality standards
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements in inbound, inventory, and VAS workflows
- Use lean principles (5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.) to drive operational efficiency
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for optimization
- Lead and participate in cross-functional improvement projects
- Train staff on process enhancements and track adoption/success metrics
- Recommend technology or automation tools to reduce manual work or errors
Team & Process Management:
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff
- Develop SOPs and training materials for all key warehouse processes
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous development
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory or warehouse management. Retail industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with inbound logistics, inventory accuracy programs, and team supervision
- Strong knowledge of WMS and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and drive operational change
- Strong analytical, math, data analysis, listening & communication skills.
- Must flexible to work evening and/or nightshift
- Metrics driven mindset.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with VAS in 3PL, retail, or manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification a plus
- Experience using data tools (Excel, Power BI) for operations analysis

The starting base salary range for this position in the selected city is $90,000 - $100,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographical location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role is bonus eligible.
