HouseAmp is quickly growing, and we are looking for a financial leader to help scale our mission of transforming home improvement financing. If you have deep mortgage lending experience, understand the capital markets, and know how to build and manage a finance function from the ground up – this is for you.

Position Summary


The Head of Finance & Capital Markets will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, strategy, and planning. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage lending and capital markets, particularly in lending, to drive the company's growth and ensure financial stability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in structured finance, lending and capital markets, with a strong ability to manage investor relations and optimize funding mechanisms.

Duties and Responsibilities


Financial Strategy and Planning:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure the company's financial health and sustainability through effective management of resources.

Capital Markets and Lending Expertise:


  • Drive the expansion and diversification of loan funding sources to support scalable originations.
  • Secure, structure, and optimize funding mechanisms, leveraging a mix of forward flow whole loan sales and other structured finance solutions.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with institutional investors, warehouse lenders, and key market participants.

Investor Relations:


  • Manage relationships with investors, providing regular updates and insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain investors, ensuring alignment with market dynamics.
  • Advocate for and broaden market acceptance of AI-driven underwriting and verification models.

Risk Management and Compliance:


  • Identify, evaluate, monitor, and manage potential risks, including data breaches and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Develop strategies to address risks effectively and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Operational Agility and Technological Integration:


  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and other executives to integrate technological solutions into financial operations.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and incorporate them into the company's financial strategies.

Ideal Qualifications


  • Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years in mortgage lending or structured finance
  • Experience working with capital markets buyers (forward flow, securitization, warehouse lines). Unsecured and/or embedded lending experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to build finance orgs in fast-paced environments
  • Strong corporate finance and accounting principles, modeling, pricing, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute long-term financial strategies that align with business goals.
  • Technology & Data Analytics: Proficiency in financial technology, automation, and data analytics tools to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
