The Biopharma Business Development Associate Director is an individual contributor and a key
leader in Natera’s pharma services business within the rare disease space. This strategic rolerequires a proven track record of cultivating partnerships across the pharmaceutical, biotech,and digital health sectors. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of the drugdevelopment lifecycle, from discovery through commercialization, and experience structuringdeals involving clinical trials, real-world evidence, and sponsored testing.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Partnering & Business Development Leadership● Identify, initiate, and manage strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, andtechnology companies.● Lead cross-functional deal teams from initial outreach through contract execution.● Own and develop long-term strategic plans for partnership growth in line with companygoals.● Drive evaluation of new business models, including risk-sharing partnerships andplatform collaborations.Market Intelligence & Opportunity Assessment● Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in drug development, clinical trials,precision medicine, and diagnostics.● Analyze partner pipelines, market needs, and whitespace to inform opportunityprioritization.● Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership and influence companystrategy.Deal Structuring & Execution● Lead negotiations and structuring of complex business development deals, includingresearch collaborations, licensing, and co-commercialization.● Partner with legal, finance, and regulatory stakeholders to structure compliant andvalue-driven agreements.Stakeholder Engagement & Representation● Represent Natera at key industry meetings, conferences, and partner events to buildcredibility and relationships.● Serve as a trusted liaison to external partners, internal leadership, and cross-functionalteams.● Plan and coordinate all customer meetingsRequirements This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and havean access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order toperform the job● Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies andProcedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not laterthan the first 30 days of hire● Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements● Employee must pass post offer criminal background checkQUALIFICATIONS:● Bachelor’s degree required in business, life sciences, economics, or another relatedfield, or equivalent required.● Advanced degrees in business, life sciences, economics, another related field, orequivalent strongly preferred● A minimum of 7 years of total industry related experience with 4 or more years ofcommercial experience.

Experience is rare disease sales is a huge plusKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:● Proven track record of effectively driving large scale partnering initiatives● Self-directed learner● Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities● Adapt and be flexible to changing priorities● Effective negotiation skills● Passionate about personalized medicine● Strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.● Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and business tools (PowerPoint, Excel).Position can be based (remote) anywhere in the USThe pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.

Life at Natera

Natera is a genetic testing company that develops and commercializes non-invasive methods for analyzing DNA. The mission of the company is to transform the diagnosis and management of genetic disease. In pursuit of that mission, Natera operates a CAP-accredited laboratory certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) in San Carlos, CA, and it currently offers a host of proprietary genetic testing services primarily to OB/GYN physicians and fertility centers, as well as to genetic laboratories through its cloud-based Constellation™ software system. Tests include the Spectrum™ pre-implantation genetic test for embryo selection during IVF; the Anora™ miscarriage test to understand the genetic causes of a pregnancy loss; the Horizon™ carrier screen to detect inherited mutations; and the Panorama™ non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) to screen for common chromosomal anomalies in a fetus as early as nine weeks of gestation.
