We are on a mission to empower designers and developers worldwide and are fundamentally changing the way creation and motion come together. LottieFiles has proven that expressive motion design not only enhances user experience—it humanizes digital platforms. LottieFiles is home to the world’s largest community of motion designers and developers, with over a million users from 70,000+ companies including Google, TikTok, Disney, Uber, Airbnb, and Netflix. Our platform enables them to create, edit, collaborate, and ship motion seamlessly using the revolutionary Lottie format. We’re seeking a
Senior Product Manager to take the reins of Lottie Creator, our flagship motion design editor used across web and desktop. Creator empowers users—from beginners to professionals—to design rich vector animations, rig layers, build interactions, and export to the Lottie format for use across apps, websites, games, and products.Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for Lottie Creator, from vision and roadmap to delivery and post-launch iteration.
- Own strategic planning and ensure alignment across design, engineering, QA, growth, and community teams.
- Develop detailed PRDs and grooming plans for features including timeline architecture, animation tooling, shape/path editing, matte/mask compositing, and Lottie format-specific constraints.
- Anticipate edge cases, define testable acceptance criteria, and collaborate closely with QA to ensure stability and usability across platforms.
- Prioritize and plan for performance, interactivity, UX polish, and creative tooling depth based on feedback from community, power users, and partners.
- Collaborate with ecosystem teams to ensure tight integration between Creator, LottieFiles.com, and plugin tools (e.g., Figma, After Effects, VSCode).
- Define and measure success metrics for product experience and reliability—beyond just usage, focusing on creative output, animation quality, and export success.
- Keep the team aligned and energized with clear narratives for “why” we’re building what we’re building, and how it empowers creators.
- Act as the internal voice of Creator, serving as the primary liaison between product leadership and development teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, working on creative tools, animation, graphics editors, or complex UI systems.
- Deep understanding of animation tooling, vector graphics, or visual design systems—experience with products like Figma, Adobe After Effects, or similar is a major plus.
- Technical fluency—you can comfortably work with engineers on implementation details around canvas rendering, state management, or file I/O logic.
- Strong product sense with an eye for interaction design, user experience, and visual feedback loops.
- Experience shipping and evolving products in production with multi-platform deployment (web, desktop, mobile).
- Familiarity with motion formats (Lottie, SVG, JSON animation data) and how rendering pipelines behave across design and development environments.
- Exceptional written communication skills—you can write clear product specs, documentation, and internal updates.
- Empathy for creatives—whether they’re exporting a shape rig or struggling with path manipulation bugs, you care deeply about their workflows.
Nice to have (Bonus!)
- Background in computer animation, HCI, UX research, or creative coding.
- Previous experience managing products with canvas or timeline interfaces (e.g., animation editors, game engines, drawing tools).
- Contributions to open source, motion design libraries, or creative tech communities.
- Experience working in distributed teams across time zones.
