About the Role:


We are looking for a sharp, proactive, and structured compliance leader to join our team as Vice President of Compliance. This person will lead a growing compliance function and manage a high-performing team. They’ll also serve as a critical partner to the Chief Legal Officer, with opportunities to support on legal and regulatory work.The ideal candidate is a decisive and independent operator with exceptional judgment and a strong sense of ownership. They know how to bring clarity to complexity, build trust with regulators and stakeholders, and strike the right balance between risk management and business enablement.

A background that includes consumer arbitration or litigation is especially advantageous and will be given significant weight.

What You Will Do:


  • Lead and mentor a high-performing compliance team (currently three direct reports).
  • Oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance, licensing, audits, complaint management, and internal policy adherence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business, product, and operations stakeholders to proactively identify and address compliance risks.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Legal Officer on legal and regulatory matters, including:
  • Contract review and negotiation (NDAs, vendor agreements, etc.)
  • Arbitration support and other dispute resolution
  • Regulatory research and analysis
  • General corporate legal projects
  • Serve as the primary compliance point of contact for Reach Financial’s bank partner and state regulators, including coordination of regulatory examinations and responses to FDIC and other inquiries.
  • Oversee the intake, investigation, and resolution of customer complaints and credit disputes, including root-cause analysis and remediation tracking.
  • Maintain a risk-based compliance testing and audit schedule, including risk assessments, internal reviews, and monitoring activities.
  • Report on compliance activities, key risks, and the status of corrective actions to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

What You Should Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree and 7–15 years of experience in legal and/or compliance roles
  • JD strongly preferred
  • Experience with consumer finance or fintech, particularly working with bank partners or in highly regulated environments
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. consumer protection laws and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience managing or participating in examinations and regulatory inquiries by the FDIC or OCC, and state regulators.
  • Proven track record managing people and projects across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to own decisions, communicate clearly, and bring structure to ambiguity
  • Experience supporting or managing consumer arbitration or litigation matters is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working with data and technology systems as part of day-to-day execution
  • Salesforce experience a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Office required
