Job Summary

The Technician is responsible for daily movement of full and empty collection bins on site and the consolidation of those materials in bailers, roll-offs and compactors. Manual handling and disassembly of materials while using various hand tools, power tools, Powered Industrial Vehicle(s). Requires full shift work indoors and/or outdoors day, night all year. Mandatory Site PPE: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toed Boots, Gloves (provided by ACTenviro)Reports to Supervisor.

Daily Activities

Report to customer site for shift start, consistently and on time
Clock in and out at shift start/end. Clock in and out for lunch
Participate in daily tailgate safety meeting at shift start
Wear required PPE at all times
Execute tasks assigned by Supervisor or Program Manager
Report process or safety issues to Supervisor
Operate manual or power hand tools to process wood
Operate forklift to collect trash and recyclables from assigned containers on production floor and/or outdoor locations
Place full containers of trash and recyclables in appropriate bailer, compactor or roll off
Adhere to ACTenviro and customer policies and procedures

Accountabilities

Consistently report to customer site and shift on time
Actively participate in ACT and Customer programs, policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Ability to identify and report potential or actual safety issues
Ability to work various shifts including Day, Night or Weekend
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, Day and/or Night
Ability to use small hand and power tools
Ability to follow directions, work efficiently and effectively
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen, physical, and drug-screen

Education/Experience

High school education or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License (Required)
Previous Forklift or Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator experience required (1+ years)
Experience in the hazardous materials/waste industry preferred
Current 40hr HAZWOPER a plus
