In our program, we welcome children who identify as girls, non-binary, and gender non-conforming. Our program currently serves King County. Reporting to the Girls on the Run Executive Director, this position is responsible for managing Girls on the Run fundraising programs and acting as a key support for the Executive Director as the organization’s principal fundraising leader. The Development Manager will support the annual development of a fundraising/ development plan in partnership with the Executive Director, for GOTRPS. The position will also support the Executive Director in their large-gift portfolio, manage day-to-day operations of the fundraising programs and data management, support corporate partnership program expansion, and over time work to help build out a mid-level giving program.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboratively support the Executive Director in developing an annual fundraising plan for GOTR to achieve its short and long-term philanthropic objectives.
  • Support the Executive Director in cultivating and stewarding relationships with large gift donors and funders.
  • Work with the Executive Director to strengthen the Board of Director’s and Advisory Council’s engagement in fundraising.
  • Manage an annual grants calendar in partnership with the Executive Director, inclusive of preparing written fundraising proposals and grant applications.
  • Manage two annual campaigns using digital and mailed solicitations; support strategy, develop plans, draft content, and provide analytics.
  • Manage and drive planning and execution of the annual Sneaker Soiree (see detail below).
  • Support sponsorship growth efforts for two annual events, including coordinating sponsorship prospect lists, helping develop sponsorship packets, tracking sponsors, and ensuring sponsorship obligations are fulfilled at our annual events (see detail below).
  • Over time, build out a mid-level giving program with the support of the Executive Director (see detail below.)
  • Manage a donor database to track gifts, contacts, and volunteer hours and activities. Manage grant files and appropriate fundraising files and folders in a clear and organized way.
  • Ensure fundraising efforts reflect the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by engaging diverse donor audiences and community stakeholders.
  • Represent GOTR at fundraising and friend-raising events and speaking engagements.
  • Support the planning and execution of the Girls on the Run 5K in the spring as needed.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

  • Develop sponsorship packages that engage sponsors with GOTRPS’s mission and audiences.
  • Manage a portfolio of sponsors and prospects, and actively solicit donations.
  • Collaborate with the GOTRPS Staff to meet and fulfill sponsorship obligations.
  • Draft sponsor recaps to secure sponsor retention.
  • Engage with GOTR Headquarters protocols for national partnerships.

SNEAKER SOIREE EVENT

  • Serve as main staff lead for the annual Sneaker Soiree fundraising dinner.
  • In years that we contract Soiree support, work with them on logistics of Sneaker Soiree.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director and Soiree Committee Chair, develop an overall plan for Sneaker Soiree including theme, location, and run of show plan.
  • Help with procurement of items and connect the committee to other organizational contacts.
  • Create communication plan for Soiree and work with Communications Coordinator to execute plan.
  • Work with Executive Director to develop the event budget.
  • Track program expenses and approve expenses planned for in the budget.

MID-LEVEL GIVING PROGRAM

  • Define and structure the program by setting donor thresholds, and goals.
  • Develop and manage engagement strategies including personalized outreach, exclusive updates, and events.
  • Build upgrade pathways by identifying major gift prospects and cultivating them for larger gifts.
  • Track and optimize donor retention, engagement, and program growth with data analysis.

Experience:

  • 3 years of demonstrated fundraising experience in a non-profit or social impact environment with success in driving increased revenue across diverse funding types.
  • Experience with event management and sponsorship coordination.
  • Experience with data management and organization, preferably in fundraising CRM databases.
  • Experience writing grants or technical reports similar to grants.

Because this position regularly travels for site visits, consistent access to reliable transportation, sometimes on very short notice, is required for this position. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering $37/hr.

Life at Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.\n\nGirls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the parent organization of more than 200 Girls on the Run councils across the United States and Canada. GOTRI establishes, trains and supports a network of community-level councils with local volunteers. The volunteers serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 10-week, 20 lesson curricula.
