Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262Hendrick Motorsports is currently seeking an experienced Fabricator. This position utilizes fabrication skills to build and work on custom parts, components, and equipment. Tools typically utilized are sheers, saws, manual punches, bead roller, belt sander, air grinder, tubing bender, milling machine, torches, lathe, drills, and brakes. The successful individual is responsible for learning various areas of car components and improving fabrication skills.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:▪ MIG/TIG weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

May use various metals including aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium.▪ Make and use patterns and templates to trace out shapes and cut out parts.▪ Cut sheet metal, metal plate, and tubing to proper lengths, shapes, and sizes for precision fit.▪ Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and/or bolt component parts required for welding.▪ Assemble and/or attach parts and pieces using rivets and various fasteners.▪ Preheat work pieces prior to welding or bending, using torches or heating furnaces.▪ Machine basic parts on mill and lathe.Qualifications:▪ Accountability - accept responsibility and account for his/her own actions.▪ Analytical Skills - possess critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve a problem.▪ Accuracy - perform work accurately and thoroughly.▪ Detail-Oriented - pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.▪ Written Communication - demonstrate an ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.▪ Oral Communication - ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers, all having varying degrees of education and background.▪ Reliability - demonstrate being dependable and trustworthy.▪ Repairing - repairing items using needed tools and equipment.▪ Troubleshooting - determining the causes of operating errors and deciding the action to take.▪ Safety Awareness - ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.Desired Education:✓ GED✓ High School DiplomaDesired Work Experience:✓ 3-5 yearsEducation/Experience: Knowledge of welding, including MIG and tack welding, is required.

May require TIG welding, as well as welding exotic metals. Mechanical skills are required. Must own personal tools.Certificates and Licenses: √ Welding certificate preferred.Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills.Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.Attendance Expectations: The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. May be required to travel as needed.Physical Demands: Required to frequently reach outward, reach above shoulder level, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 100 pounds, and push/pull up to 40 pounds. Required to constantly stand, walk, manually manipulate, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 25 pounds. Required to occasionally sit and push/pull over 100 pounds.Environment Demands: Primarily works indoors in the shop environment. May be exposed to fumes and loud noises.Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.Math Ability: Basic math skills are required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
