Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Public Relations Representative who will be responsible for providing outstanding communications support to the organization and one of its four championship-caliber NASCAR Cup Series teams.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing strategic communications counsel and overseeing all aspects of corporate communications, public relations and media relations programs.
Documented experience working proactively and professionally to build relationships with journalists and outlets in all formats, including print, radio, television, digital, and emerging media is required. Job responsibilities include identifying, pitching and securing beneficial media placements and regularly providing high-quality content to Hendrick Motorsports’ digital platforms and sponsors.The Communications Representative will collaborate with the sanctioning body, series racetracks and other industry stakeholders to maximize opportunities to promote and raise awareness of the team and its drivers and sponsors.
The position requires impeccable interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; strong familiarity with Associated Press style and editing; professional-level writing ability; and a strong understanding of journalism and the evolving media landscape. The candidate must have documented experience with crisis management and working knowledge of digital/social media strategies and tactics. Ability to be a full-time traveler throughout the NASCAR Cup Series schedule is a requirement.Requirements:· A four-year degree in communications, public relations or a related field· Minimum four years of experience in a related communications/public relations position· Impeccable interpersonal and written communication skills· The ability to foster healthy professional relationships with co-workers, corporate sponsors, members of the media and other stakeholders· Self-starter with a track record of proactively pitching media outlets and responding to inquiries/requests in a timely fashion· Experience with digital and social media strategies and tactics; creative skills to produce/provide engaging digital content· Ability to work collaboratively and as a member of a team· Display professionalism and integrity at all times· Crisis communications expertise; ability to operate effectively while under pressure· Experience with Associated Press style and editing· Strong planning and organizational skills· Must have the flexibility to travel extensively and work weekends· Experience working in professional auto racing or other pro sports environment preferredPlease submit your resumes through www.hendrickmotorsports.comHendrick Motorsports is an equal opportunity employer.
