We are looking to add a dynamic, strategic, and execution-oriented Director of Marketing to lead marketing efforts for our Fern trade show services division. This role plays a key part in driving visibility, industry presence, and demand generation for our general services contracting business while also supporting cross-selling efforts across our broader suite of services—exhibit services and event management. This leader will serve as the central marketing liaison for the Fern business unit and be a champion for integrated, collaborative marketing efforts companywide. You will report directly to the Sr.

Vice President of Marketing.  Position can be done remotely with the ability to travel to various shows. Salary is $110-120K plus bonus.  

What You’ll Do: 


Strategic Marketing Leadership & Sales Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all marketing and industry relations initiatives related to Fern. 
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies that align with company goals and the unique needs of the Fern business. 
  • Collaborate with peers across other Nth Degree divisions to promote brand unity and support cross-selling. 

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Plan, develop, and manage direct email marketing campaigns targeting exhibitors, corporations, agencies and show organizers. 
  • Oversee and grow Fern’s social media presence across relevant platforms. 
  • Maintain and refresh marketing collateral used by sales teams, ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment. 

Sales Enablement & Proposal Support

  • Partner with branch and national sales leaders to develop compelling proposals, presentations and supporting materials.
  • Provide creative support and positioning insights to enhance deal conversion.

Industry Engagement & Event Management

  • Coordinate Fern’s presence at major industry events such as Expo! Expo!, IMEX, PCMA, and others. 
  • Oversee pre-event planning, sponsorships, onsite activations, booth design (when applicable), and post-show follow-up strategies. 

Content & Asset Management

  • Maintain a well-organized library of photos, videos, case studies, and other marketing assets including Fern’s YouTube channel. 
  • Monitor industry news and trends to provide timely insights and identify potential opportunities for engagement. 

Budgeting & Analytics

  • Lead the development of Fern’s annual marketing budget and oversee ongoing tracking, reporting, and optimization of spend. 
  • Measure the performance of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies to improve results. 

Who You Are:


  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in marketing, preferably within B2B services, trade shows, events, or experiential industries. 
  • Strong strategic thinking and hands-on execution capabilities.  
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and sales campaigns for event businesses, generating leads and driving revenue. 
  • Excellent communication, writing, event planning and design skills. Able to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Strong project manager, able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Experience managing budgets and marketing ROI analysis. 
  • Strong background with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), Microsoft Office, social media platforms like Hootsuite and others.  
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field required. 
  • Comfortable with traveling up to 30% of the time.
