COHO Technology Solutions is looking for a senior MCS Java Developer to design and develop Java applications and maintain applications. The Java Developer will also provide technical guidance and follow the Agile software development. Initially 100% remote; then 1-2 days per week as advised.
This position reports to the onsite Project Manager and is in US Census Bureau.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development
- Possess and maintain knowledge of web-based technologies and architecture
- Design and implement secure code for software applications
- Perform testing and maintain large software applications
- Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices
- Perform iterative code development
- Perform troubleshooting and supporting production applications
- Assist other developers with technical solutions
- Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
Essential Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Technology or a related field of study
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Hands on experience in Web Development (HTML, JavaScript, JQuery), Bootstrap Spring MVC, Hibernate and Oracle Database
- Strong experience with the following technologies:
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development
- Possess and maintain knowledge of web-based technologies and architecture
- Design and implement secure code for software applications
- Perform testing and maintain large software applications
- Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices
- Perform iterative code development
- Perform troubleshooting and supporting production applications
- Assist other developers with technical solutions
- Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
- Strong experience with the following Application Architecture Systems:
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development
- Possess and maintain knowledge of web-based technologies and architecture
- Design and implement secure code for software applications
- Perform testing and maintain large software applications
- Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices
- Perform iterative code development
- Perform troubleshooting and supporting production applications
- Assist other developers with technical solutions
- Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
- Ability to obtain Public Trust from Census Investigative Services (CIS) prior to commencement of Census Bureau work
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Prior U.S. Census Bureau and/or federal agency consultant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
