Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Quotation Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotes and estimates for products by reviewing customer specifications, drawings, and material requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and technical documents to understand project requirements.
- Generate detailed cost estimates and quotations based on customer needs, internal capabilities, and supplier pricing with an emphasis on quick and efficient quote turnaround times.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to gather necessary information for quote development.
- Ensure that all quotations are thoughtful, competitive, and aligned with the company's pricing strategies and profit margins.
- Communicate with customers to clarify technical requirements and respond to inquiries related to quotes.
- Maintain records of quotations and assist in tracking project status from quote to order.
- Continuously improve the quoting process and tools for efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Technical background preferred (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering).
- Proven experience in a technical or manufacturing environment—preferably in a quoting, estimating, or applications engineering role.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quoting/CRM systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
- Familiarity with industry standards and materials (e.g., metals, plastics, machining processes).
