Position Summary:The VA Platoon Leader will oversee and manage a team of attorneys within the Veterans Disability practice. This leadership role is critical in driving the team’s performance, developing associate talent, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality legal services to our Veteran clients. The Platoon Leader will serve as a mentor and trainer, helping associates grow in their knowledge, efficiency, and confidence while also managing caseload distribution and performance standards.Key Responsibilities:• Lead, mentor, and support a group of attorneys with a focus on growth, accountability, and professional development• Strategically delegate cases and workload to ensure efficiency and balanced team output• Provide direct training, ongoing feedback, and regular check-ins with associate attorneys• Identify performance trends and proactively address quality, timeliness, and client service concerns• Collaborate with the VA Section Head to align team performance with broader organizational goals• Maintain a caseload to remain immersed in daily practice challenges and standards• Foster a team culture grounded in Berry Law’s values and mission to serve VeteransQualifications:• Currently meets the qualifications for promotion to Senior Counsel I• Strong knowledge of VA disability law and proven track record in successful case handling• Demonstrated leadership ability and prior experience mentoring or training junior attorneys• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills• Ability to model and instill a high standard of professionalism, client service, and team collaboration
