cFocus Software seeks a NTIRA Database Administrator (SQL Server), Journeyman to join our program supporting the US Navy. This position is onsite in Suffolk, VA. This position requires a Secret clearance.
Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree; or a degree in a Mathematics or Engineering field.
- 3 - 10+ years of experience working as a database administrator with SQL Server (2012, 2016, & 2022 or later) in a Windows Server environment, such as database operations performing database backups; managing SQL Server jobs; creating tables, views, stored procedures, and functions; database optimization of SQL Server database objects; and Oracle and SQL Server connections and data pulls.
- Experience in installing SQL Server on cloud environments such as AWS.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Demonstrated experience performing Information Assurance (IA) security procedures, DISA STIGs for database implementation, operation, and encryption such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
- Experience versioning software with Atlassian Bitbucket or similar Git based repository.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira or similar issue and project tracking software.
- Experience with Atlassian Confluence or similar knowledge management software.
- Active DoD IAT II/III certification
Duties:
- Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
- Coordinate changes to computer databases.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability.
- May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
- Perform necessary database functions such as maintaining and monitoring jobs run through SQL Server, necessary database backups and restorations, and executing and monitoring connections to external databases.
- Works with Database Architect to enforce versioning control for database changes.
