Senior Storage Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Storage Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions across multiple platforms. This role is critical to ensure the stability, integrity, and performance of the storage systems that support our customers and core business operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise with platforms such as PURE Storage, IBM, NetApp, and Dell/EMC, along with a solid grasp of virtualization and scripting technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage scalable enterprise storage solutions (PURE, IBM, NetApp, Dell/EMC, etc.).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and remediation of storage incidents, with thorough follow-up and documentation.
• Collaborate with architecture, operations, and sales engineering teams to deliver client-aligned storage solutions.
• Oversee incident queues to ensure timely resolution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Lead storage capacity planning, migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and disaster declarations.
• Provide support and integration expertise in virtualized environments (VMware, Nutanix, etc.).
• Maintain detailed documentation of storage infrastructure and as-built environments.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements.
• Provide clear and accurate communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or a related role.
• Hands-on expertise with:
•   - PURE Storage (Pure1 Manage)
•   - IBM (Global Mirror, FlashSystems, Spectrum Virtualize/Scale, DS8000)
•   - NetApp (SnapMirror, SnapVault, ONTAP, OnCommand)
•   - Dell/EMC (Navisphere, SRDF, Avamar, Isilon, VMAX, DataDomain)
•   - HPE 3PAR
•   - Object Storage and VTL solutions
• Strong grasp of SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, LUN masking, zoning, multipathing, and provisioning.
• Experience with backup/replication tools (e.g., SRDF, SnapMirror, Global Mirror).
• Solid knowledge of storage performance analytics, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible).
• Familiarity with cloud storage environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Comfortable working in on-call rotation and high-availability environments.
Additional Qualifications
• Experience with Tegile or Nimble storage platforms.
• VMware vSphere, vSAN, or Nutanix AHV experience.
• Industry certifications (e.g., Pure Storage Certified, IBM Specialist, VMware VCP).
• Knowledge of compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Linux administration skills.
