About the Opportunity:
The Director, Legal Operations will join our dynamic Legal team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing operations across the legal department, supporting corporate contract management and Intellectual Property (IP) matters. The Director, Legal Operations will collaborate closely with stakeholders and external counsel to ensure smooth operations, compliance, and protection of the company’s contractual interests and intellectual property.

- Ensure operational efficiency for the legal department, including developing and implementing internal process guidelines, templates, and workflows.
- Lead the contracting process, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of corporate contracts, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), service agreements, Statements of Work, and vendor contracts.
- Proactively manage contract renewals, notices, addendums, amendments, and terminations.
- Support internal stakeholders in the interpretation of contractual provisions and obligations.
- Communicate with internal and external clients for contract inquiries, assist with revisions, and train others on contract processes.
- Maintain accurate contract files, records, and tracking systems in Agiloft contract management software and CPI patent management system.
- Assist in managing IP portfolio, including tracking deadlines for filings, docketing, renewals and maintenance; communicate with outside counsel and coordinate on prosecution matters and assist with assignments and agreements.
- Assist with regulatory filings, board material preparation and coordination, and maintenance of corporate records.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in legal studies or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in legal operations or as a paralegal with a focus on IP law and corporate contracts.
- Experience with contract management software (e.g. Agiloft) and/or patent management software (e.g. CPI).
Additional experience that would be valuable for this role includes:
- Notary Paralegal certification
CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $170,000 to $260,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.#LI-DNI
