What You Will Do


As the Head (VP) of Product Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in Alchemer’s ongoing transformation, helping to build a world-class engineering organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for the leadership, performance, and strategic direction of all product development efforts that power Alchemer’s platform and AI evolution.You will partner closely with leaders across the Engineering, Product, and Design organizations to shape platform strategy, drive innovation, and ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions that delight customers and fuel business growth.

How You Will Spend Your Days


Strategic Leadership


  • Partner with the CTO to define and execute the long-term technical vision and strategy
  • Promote engineering excellence through cohesive quality engineering practices, standardized architecture, coding guidelines and iterative releases
  • Leveraging Agentic AI, Generative AI, Predictive AI, and Analytics to drive the Alchemer’s platform and capabilities
  • Champion the adoption of AI-first engineering principles across all product and platform teams

Technology & Delivery


  • Lead the transformation of Alchemer’s architecture from legacy systems to modern, cloud-native, high throughput, service-oriented designs
  • Drive technical innovation across the platform, identifying and integrating new technologies as needed
  • Optimize software development lifecycle (SDLC) for predictability, velocity, and quality
  • Define, measure, and optimize engineering KPIs (e.g., throughput, quality, technical debt,test coverage, DORA metrics)

Product Collaboration & Execution


  • Work closely with Product Management and Design to co-own product roadmaps and translate business goals into engineering execution
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, secure, scalable products with minimal churn
  • Maintain strong accountability for the reliability, observability, and maintainability of systems

Team Management & Growth


  • Foster a culture of high performance, ownership, learning, and collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of engineers and engineering leaders
  • Identify knowledge and training gaps to accelerate hiring, onboarding and retention
  • Recruit, coach, and retain top engineering talent across regions and time zones

Operational Excellence


  • Identify, measure, and iteratively roll out continuous improvement initiatives, while quickly and effectively resolving escalated issues
  • Instill operational rigor across engineering workflows and change management processes
  • Oversee technical optimization for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness

What You Bring to this Role


Leadership & Experience


  • 10+ years of software engineering leadership experience, including 7+ years managing full-stack teams delivering SaaS platforms
  • Proven ability to lead during high-growth phases, ideally in a PE or VC-backed organization
  • Passion for tackling complex challenges, driving technical innovation, and making informed, data-driven decisions
  • Started as a software engineer and advanced through roles up to VP-level, with strong empathy for product & engineering teams

Culture & Communication


  • Passion for servant leadership, coaching, mentoring, and nurturing engineering talent
  • Experience cultivating culture of ownership and high accountability to build and sustain high performing teams
  • Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders across the organization
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences

Execution & Proces


  • Demonstrated success managing large portfolios of work and delivering against key milestones.
  • Familiar with lean-agile practices and scaling frameworks, with a pragmatic approach to implementation.
  • Experience driving test-driven development, DevSecOps, and quality engineering standards.

Technical Expertise


  • Hands-on experience in modern web architectures, cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Deep understanding of enterprise SaaS, distributed systems, data platforms, and security best practices.
  • Experience in transforming monolith architectures into microservices and micro frontends.
  • Familiar with Agentic AI, Generative AI, Predictive AI, and Analytics solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, Python, Ruby n Rails, Mobile development, relational and non-relational databases
  • Formal degree (BS or MS) in computer science or related technical field

Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary of $220,000 to $260,000, with eligibility to participate in our Employee Participation Unit program.Alchemer provides a rich benefits package that includes health and disability coverages, an incredible 401(k) option that includes a per-payroll match and immediate vesting, unlimited time off and twelve paid company holidays.Alchemer is taking applications for this position from candidates who are legally authorized to work in the US and do not require now, or in the future, immigration sponsorship for work authorization.
