Fam is India's first payments app for everyone above 11. FamApp helps make online and offline payments through UPI and FamCard. About this Role
We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team at Fam. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers, ensuring they are aligned with our product vision and company goals. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality software, driving engineering initiatives, and scaling systems that power millions of transactions every day. If you are a people-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for building scalable fintech solutions, this role is for you.
On the Job
- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Drive team performance through goal setting, regular feedback, and career development.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and meet high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with product, Design and business teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the development process, driving improvements in productivity and performance.
- Build a high-performing engineering culture, emphasising collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
Must-haves (Min. qualifications)
- 5-8 years of hands-on software engineering experience with a strong background in building scalable, distributed systems.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams, managing team dynamics, and mentoring engineers.
- Strong coding skills in languages like Python or Go
- Experience in managing engineering processes, including code reviews, sprint planning, and performance evaluations.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (like AWS) and modern infrastructure tools (Kubernetes, pulumi etc.).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align teams with business goals.
Good to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or banking domains.
- Knowledge of micro services architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with project management tools.
- Exposure to system monitoring and performance optimization at scale.
