PROFILE


The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. You will be assisting with day to day accounting responsibilities and overseeing all aspects of the general ledger. This position requires extensive interaction with our growing team, customers and vendors. This position reports to the Controller, North America and is based in the Richmond, VA office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


· Assist with month-end closing and reporting duties· Responsible for accurately posting transactions in the general ledger throughout the month· Perform Bank Reconciliations· Prepare Fixed Assets and Prepaid entries· Approve Employee Expense reports· Enter and reconcile corporate credit card statements· Calculate and prepare Commission statements· Process invoices accurately and efficiently· Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and ensure timely follow-up of reconciling items· Prepare ad-hoc reports/analysis as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.· Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.· Prepare schedules for year-end audit for independent external auditor.· Assist Order Processing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.· Serve as liaison between Finance and other business units for all day-to-day operational issues.· Prepare and review monthly finance team reports.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS


· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required· 2 to 4 years of accounting experience.· Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and meet deadlines.· Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.· Ability to multitask and work through complex problems.· Strong oral communication skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills (individual, group, in person and via electronics media internally and with clients)· Strong team player· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Advanced Excel (e.g., experience using VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables).· Experience with ERP System preferred.
