PotlatchDeltic is seeking qualified applicants to join our team and fill a Reliability Manager position onsite at the Gwinn Lumber Mill. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent and optimal performance of equipment, systems, and processes by implementing proactive maintenance strategies, analyzing failure trends, and fostering a culture of reliability. The Reliability Manager drives continuous improvement, reduces downtime, and enhances operational efficiency, ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of mill assets.
The salary range for this position is $84,825.00 - $141,375.00.The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.This position is bonus eligible with a target value of 10% of salary.Site Downtime Leader:
- Identify, prioritize, and lead efforts to eliminate issues causing downtime
- Manage Oper8 downtime system to track downtime for each machine center
- Manage Oper8 downtime reporting by operators for each machine center
- Meet daily with maintenance, operations, and leadership personnel on issues causing downtime
- Compile daily/monthly reports from data collection for distribution to management team
- Analyze production processes to identify areas needing improvement
Site “CALL” (Cleanliness, Alignment, Looseness, Lubrication) Leader:
- Manage CALL Programso Cleanliness: Hydraulic filtration/flushing, hydraulic temperatures, fluid samplingo Alignment: Shafts aligned within .003”. Sprockets/sheaves aligned to 0.003” & 0.5”o Looseness: Fastener replacement, proper fastener torque, torque wrench calibration, air leak detection routeso Lubrication: Ensure lubricants meet OEM specifications, oil sampling, lube routes, thermal routes for high-speed bearingso Reliable Parts Storage: Store bearings flat, belts on curved hanger, rotate shafts quarterly
Site RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) Leader:
- Manage Root Cause Failure Analysis program for the facility
- Ensure that an RCFA is completed and recorded for all downtime over 60 minutes
- Lead the RCFA process until you arrive at the root cause and develop solutions to correct or prevent recurrences
- Coordinate efforts to address issues, assign action items, track progress and follow-up to close the loop with management, operations and maintenance
Reliability Facilitation:
- Manage the Reliability Team in precision state effortso Reliability Techs, Reliability Specialists, Lube Techs, etc.
- Challenge operations and maintenance in their teamwork, problem identification and resolution
- Collaborate with management to evaluate and address issues with people, process and equipment
- Support supervisors in CALL training efforts for new employees as well as CALL highlights and refresher training during crew meetings
- Facilitate teams to assess equipment and brainstorm solutions to improve performance and reliability
- Manage vendor PM inspections/repairs on air system, cranes, hoist, infrared surveys, vibration analysis, alignments, etc.
- Participate in safety meetings
- Assist with coordination efforts of purchasing and maintenance planning to ensure all materials, parts, resources, and manpower are available to perform scheduled work properly and in a timely manner
- Ensure all machine centers have PM’s compliant to OEM recommendations
- Review PM activities results and critique PM’s providing updates as needed
- Participate in the work order scheduling reviews with maintenance and operations departments to meet operational goals
- Assist with the review of maintenance backlog and help prioritize
Requirements:
- GED/High School Diploma required. Specialized/technical training and certification in manufacturing technology, engineering, or related maintenance field; associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Proven experience leading a reliability program in a manufacturing or related environment is required. This includes developing and implementing proactive maintenance strategies, managing root cause analysis, and driving performance improvements across maintenance and operations teams.
- Three to five years of maintenance experience and/or three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong leadership and administrative skills. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be able to organize, coordinate and control multiple tasks and projects with strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills required with intermediate skills using Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and project management
- Intermediate skills with maintenance management software (MAS) and CAD preferred
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to collaborate with a variety of departments and individuals
- Must be a high energy, self-directed individual able to collaborate across all departments to influence others and set strategic direction
- Ability to read maintenance prints/drawings accurately is required
- Ability to make data driven decisions that will be utilized for evaluating future capital projects
- Ability to work in both an office and manufacturing mill environment
- Ability to be exposed to heat, noise, moving equipment, dust and adverse weather conditions including heat, humidity, snow and extreme cold
- Ability to transport/move parts to different areas of the facility
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bending, and lifting of 50-60 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to withstand some fatigue due to computer use
- Ability to provide after-hours support onsite and/or by phone as needed, including occasional nights and weekends
