What We're Looking For
Cross River’s Compliance team ensures our business follows consumer compliance regulations, industry best practices, and established Bank procedures. This role supports the Bank’s offering of consumer and business-purpose card products in conjunction with third-party providers. Before the Bank can onboard a new third-party provider, the Bank must perform due diligence. Once a third-party provider is onboarded, regular compliance oversight includes ongoing compliance monitoring and testing. The Credit Card Compliance Specialist will initially be tasked with leading the due diligence, approval and onboarding processes, and will then expand into ongoing compliance monitoring and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic planning and road mapping efforts across Compliance to align with departmental and enterprise goals.
- Manage the execution and delivery of key departmental initiatives
- Build and grow the Compliance SRI Program, overseeing design, implementation, stakeholder alignment, and reporting.
- Implement best practices in program and portfolio management, including prioritization, resourcing, and milestone tracking.
- Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation plans to ensure regulatory and operational soundness.
- Lead change management strategies to support the adoption of new compliance processes, systems, and frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and continuously improve project delivery outcomes.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
- Act as a primary liaison with internal stakeholders, ensuring project alignment, transparency, and timely communication.
- Apply process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize Compliance operations.
- Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to evaluate program performance and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, project/program management, or a related leadership role in financial services.
- Strong background in strategic planning, risk management, and program governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
- Proficient in project management and data analytics tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
