Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Local Business Partner and a global leader in process systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join our fast-paced, customer-oriented team in Schaumburg, IL. The successful candidate will lead the full lifecycle of cross-functional technology projects—partnering closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand needs, develop scalable strategies, and deliver business-critical solutions. In this role, you will blend technical fluency, program leadership, and business insight to guide project teams through execution, testing, and adoption.

Technical Project Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, resources, budget, risks, and issues to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Utilize project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid) to manage diverse technical initiatives.
  • Coordinate and align internal and external resources across functions and geographies to ensure accountability and delivery.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects with on-time, on-budget delivery and defined success criteria.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights and executive-ready reporting.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and ensure alignment across all stakeholder groups.
  • Build credibility and trust across departments through clear, consistent communication.
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Understand architectural and system design concepts to guide technical discussions and anticipate delivery risks.
  • Define, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Leverage tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and MS Project to manage project deliverables, monitor milestones, and report on KPIs.
  • Support test planning, UAT coordination, and defect triage; ensure QA processes are followed through go-live and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and SMEs to plan and support end-user training, including identifying needs, developing materials, and scheduling sessions to ensure adoption.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and leadership to support change management efforts, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategy aligned to project goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and support tool/platform evaluations, demos, and implementation planning.
  • Coach project teams and champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborative execution.
  • Continuously refine PMO best practices and support project intake, scoring, and governance.
  • Identify and address process bottlenecks; promote lean, scalable workflows.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning, technology roadmaps, and innovation initiatives.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned efforts to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

Technical Project Manager Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management and business analysis
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects involving enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, or workflow platforms)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience writing functional specifications, user stories, and visual documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and complex issues with minimal direction
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Technical Project Manager Preferred Qualifications:


  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or ScrumMaster certification
  • Experience with Salesforce, IFS, or Microsoft platforms
  • Exposure to vendor selection, SaaS implementations, or systems integration

Technical Project Manager Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work extended hours on a computer

Technical Project Manager Pay:


  • Salary Range: $110,000 – $135,000
  • Bonus potential: 10%
