This is a strategic leadership role within the Outcomes and Optimizations organization, responsible for driving the technical direction and delivery of AI-centric solutions that power OpenX’s media platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Business to turn cutting-edge AI research into production-ready systems.The role, while remote, is schedule-centered in the US Eastern time zone.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Define and drive the O&O technical strategy and vision in close partnership with Product leadership 
  • Lead multiple high-performing engineering teams, setting clear goals and ensuring the timely delivery of robust, scalable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data Science leadership to translate research and models into production-grade systems
  • Ensure technical excellence through best practices in software design, code quality, observability, and automation
  • Foster a strong engineering culture of innovation, accountability, mentorship, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to drive consistency across the platform and software development lifecycle (SDLC), establishing standards and practices that support scalability and long-term growth
  • Partner with business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with company goals and deliver measurable impact

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Ph.D. a plus)
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams
  • Prior experience in the ad tech ecosystem or similar high-performance domains
  • Proven track record of delivering complex AI/ML-driven products at scale, ideally in high-throughput, low-latency environments
  • Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience managing large codebases, setting technical direction, and instituting best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Experience with modern languages and frameworks such as Python, and Go
  • Experience partnering with Data Science and Product teams to deliver AI/ML capabilities

$217,000 - $243,500 a yearPursuant to any state, local ordinance, or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation. OpenX is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
