Join our team as a Business Development Representative!


The Business Development Representative (BDR) will identify and pursue new sales opportunities as well as actively seek to expand the client base. The BDR will also build and nurture relationships with prospective clients to drive business growth and achieve sales targets.

What You'll Do


  • Generate business through outbound activity.
  • Support Account Managers to close high value deals.
  • Follow up with existing and potential customers to build relationships and drive conversion.
  • Work on specific projects to help Protolabs to become a stronger brand via outbound (cold calling/list building) and inbound (marketing qualified leads) channels.
  • Use sales tactics to move a lead from prospect to customer.
  • Research fairs and events in local market in preparation for sales team attendance and exposition.      

What It Takes


  • College+
  • 1-2 years B2B sales experience
  • Results orientation on sales growth: proactively convert leads and identify new business opportunities and maintains a robust pipeline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and internally.
  • Ability to resolve customer conflicts.
  • Organisational skills: effective management projects, programs and agreements to drive customer growth.
  • Presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, at the facility and business unit levels of the customer organisation.
  • Can engage in high-level conversations related to manufacturing and engineering.
  • Familiar with Protolabs’ service lines, understands the manufacturing product life cycle and how to connect customer's needs with Protolabs’ capabilities in our full-service offering.
  • Team player and Protolabs culture promoter.
  • Self-motivated and growth mindset.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing sight of objectives and priorities.
  • Good analytical skills and accurate.
  • Ideally German/French/Italian/Spanish speaking
