Shipping & Receiving Associates for 1st and 2nd shift opportunities within our Bridgeport Fittings facilities located in Stratford, CT.

Job Summary:


Works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Works with shipping and warehouse team to ensure customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • When working on Stacker:
  • Putting away stock from floor
  • Filling shelves
  • Pulling down stock for others
  • When pulling (Stock/Customer) orders:
  • Help put away stock from previous nights packing (clean out aisles where skids were put)
  • Use computer console to locate items
  • Use hand held Intermec while doing orders
  • Load truck
  • Unload truck transferring materials/verification of packing slips & Bill of Ladings
  • Must be alert to traffic in and around aisles; must be aware of skids on floor or up in the air on stackers.
  • Must be accurate in counts, able to work on orders and stock alone without supervision. When working on stacker, must be able to put away stock from Packing. Must be accurate in counts when stacking shelves and combining like product.
  • Must be able to communicate with fellow workers, Foreperson, and Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Good command of the English language
  • Must learn to use:
  • Hand held intermac
  • Computer  console
  • Assemble skids to form cube (box sizes)
  • Run stacker – put away and retrieve skids from racks
  • Use multition electric truck
  • Locate and know where stock is on shelves
  • Time required to fully learn job and work on own is approximately 4-6 weeks
  • On feet wearing steel toe shoes, 8 hours a day.
  • Multiple times up and down stairs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • High school Diploma/Equivalency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
