Work Location:            Huntsville, ALSchedule:                    Full Time 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day in officeRelocation:                  NegotiableIronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior System Engineer supporting the H-60 Development and Modernization team for Utility Helicopter Project Office (UHPO) on Redstone. Potential candidates will be responsible for the essential functions listed below and must display the competencies as described to complete those essential functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Serve as Systems Engineer on various UHPO H-60 Development and Modernization (Dev/Mods) projects and responsible for advocating for rigorous systems engineering management principles.
  • Risk, Issues, Opportunity (RIO) Management - applicant will act as primary sounding board to ensure proper RIO practices are followed
  • Provide engineering SME process support for Dev/Mods.
  • Support H-60 Dev/Mods Airworthiness efforts from SRD and resolve issues with requirements verification efforts for achieving Airworthiness Releases (AWRs).
  • Identify program risk, assess, and provide mitigations.
  • Provide engineering decisions to minimize or eliminate H-60 Dev/Mods hazards.
  • Prepare technical materials for presentations, training materials, white papers, etc.
  • Resolve technical issues or challenges related to design implementation and/or qualification.
  • Support and advise various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on systems engineering best practices.
  • Develop acquisition lifecycle planning and milestone documentation for H-60 Dev/Mods.
  • Review and adjudicate submitted technical Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) artifacts.
  • Provide input to statements of work (SOWs) to ensure appropriate systems engineering, requirements management, technical reviews, and CDRLs are incorporated appropriately.
  • Prepare and present briefings/technical papers to H-60 Dev/Mods Tech Chief and communicate and interface with technical representatives.
  • Provide written and verbal assessments to management regarding status, issues, and risk.
  • Support and provide feedback for contract gate reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), design reviews, and other technical meetings.
  • Manage coordination, review, and requirements of engineering documentation.
  • Support integration trade studies.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. 

Education and General Experience:


  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical/engineering field with at least twenty (20) years of general experience is required.
  • Experience in IBM's Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements (DOORS) in required.
  • General knowledge of Airworthiness Releases (AWR) and System Readiness Division (SRD).
  • General knowledge of program management, technical management, and systems engineering processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of H-60 helicopter systems, subsystems, and mission kits and their integration aspects to include electrical and software.
  • A strong work ethic, the ability to work effectively with others and a healthy desire to acquire new skills are paramount in this position.
  • Ability to manage complex development and engineering projects, work effectively with others and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advise top managers of substantive program risk or unusual problems characterized by their breadth, importance, or severity; plans, organizes, and directs the work of integrated product teams to conducting comprehensive program planning, cost estimation and execution.
  • Application of the principles, practices, and theories of engineering fundamentals to include but not limited to system engineering

Security Clearance Requirements:


  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Travel:

  Must be able and willing to travel up to 15%
