Job Summary: Works in and maintains the lab area responsible for automated and manual DNAextraction proceduresPrimary Responsibilities:• Works with automated liquid handlers and other automation to complete daily extraction ofDNA from incoming laboratory samples• Responsible for sample management and tracking through the department, includingmanagement of the automated storage system for storage and retrieval of extracted samples• Performs quantification and quality assessment of samples as needed• Assists with preparation and maintenance of reagent stocks• Handles proper operation of automation for vial filling and sample sorting• Monitors and maintains supply inventories• Follows all laboratory procedures and policies, including quality control and quality systemactivities, and documents appropriately all records, deviations, and corrective actions asrequired• Assists with training laboratory personnel• Assists with troubleshooting issues with assays, equipment, or procedures• Performs general laboratory maintenance, organization, and cleaning of the area• Assists with other laboratory procedures as necessary, includingo Receipt and accessioning of sampleso Manual DNA extractions of non-standard sampleso RNA extraction and Real-Time PCR assays for Respiratory Pathogen detectionRequirementsRequired Qualifications:• 4- year Bachelor degree or higher a Biological Science or related field• Computer literacy of Microsoft Word and Excel is requiredPreferred Qualifications:• Previous experience in a molecular biology or clinical laboratory environmentSchedule: Tuesday- Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM or Sunday- Thursday, 10 AM to 6 PM
