At Paragraf we are committed to materially transforming electronics through the development of high-purity graphene products that will facilitate massive improvements in the performance of technologies across all aspects of life.As the Paragraf Production Manager, you will be responsible for the on-time delivery of our various graphene-based products. Managing a team of skilled Technicians based in our Wafer Fab, you will ensure that that daily operations are focused and aligned with the departmental KPI’s.Working closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Production Planning, H&S, Facilities & Equipment Engineering, the Production Manager will be key in co-ordinating supporting activities to ensure the Production line is running efficiently, effectively, and safely.The Production Manager will also be responsible for driving improvements though CIP, OEE projects and cost down activities.

Key Responsibilities


  • To manage all Production team Technicians, Senior Technicians and Team Leaders covering FEOL, BEOL and Test operations.
  • To manage the wafer fabrication Production Line ensuring it is well balanced and that WIP levels reflect current sales demand and forecasts.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Director to develop and grow the production facility, services, and team, in line with the requirements of the technology and product roadmaps for the business.
  • To develop, own and manage the processes, procedures and policies required to operate robust, safe, and effective production lines.
  • Together with senior management, develop and own the company production roadmap, which will deliver the products enabled by the company technology roadmap.
  • Deliver novel and inventive manufacturing strategies to support the product delivery roadmap.
  • Working with the Manufacturing Director, engage with external strategic partners, where required, to scale future product delivery.
  • Working with the Process Engineering teams, deliver on key OEE projects to improve effectiveness in key process steps.
  • Working with the Process Engineering teams, help to deliver on Yield Improvements projects across all Paragraf products.
  • Working with the Development teams to keep abreast of upcoming product/process improvements and implementing them via the Quality system.
  • Working with the Development teams to co-ordinate wafer trials and experiments for new processes and products.
  • Complete other duties commensurate with the role’s level as requested by the Manufacturing Director.

Requirements


Education and Qualifications


  • Educated to degree level in a materials or engineering discipline.
  • A relevant professional certification relating to engineering or materials science.

Experience


  • Experience in a relevant manufacturing management role with demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team effectively and collaboratively.
  • Multi-project management with a strong history of achieving project delivery.
  • Strong experience of NPD/NPI processes and approaches for innovative technologies
  • Strong experience with a MES system
  • Good working understanding of OEE.
  • Good working understanding of an ERP system.
  • Good understanding of corporate processes and procedures
  • Strong, relevant experience of actively managing product quality management and delivery.

Skills and knowledge


  • First-hand knowledge of product manufacturing processes, approaches, and tools
  • An ability to reflect, learn rapidly from experiences and respond positively to feedback.
  • Exceptional collaborator, strong interpersonal skills with a capability to work autonomously.

It would be an advantage to also have experience or knowledge of

  • Experience of semiconductor device manufacturing and required equipment.
  • Experience of two-dimensional materials
  • Knowledge of manufacturing approaches; Lean, Agile, JIT etc.
  • Understanding of process improvement approaches; Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
  • Knowledge of organizational improvement methodologies; 5S, Workflow etc 

Communication


  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to contribute and encourage ideas generation to senior management.
  • Effectively communicate technical information, and to report on status of work in a timely manner to senior management.
  • Ability to present information clearly and appropriately for the audience.

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by complying with company policies and processes and all relevant regulations including the use of PPE, as appropriate to the level and scope of the role. This includes participation in health and safety training and reporting of any potential hazards or breaches of safety protocols in the appropriate manner.
  • Managers are also expected to contribute to and support the continuous improvement of health and safety practices, encouraging a proactive culture of awareness and prevention within the team.
  • Willing to travel both domestically and abroad.
  • UK Driving licence.
