The Impact You Will Make:


In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in advancing our engineers and enhancing the developer experience. This will be a player-coach role, and the ideal candidate will excel in team leadership and while being a key contributor to achieve optimal outcomes.You will work to empower our engineers to deliver a robust suite of services that our Labels and Artists use to distribute, monetize, and analyze content that we deploy to all of the top industry music streaming platforms and social platforms, such as Youtube, Spotify, Apple, and Tiktok.You will be joining a small, but growing team, with the opportunity to provide high-impact results for various initiatives the company will outline over the next few years.

This position will work with fellow managers, engineers, designers, data engineers, and product managers to deliver industry-leading features and products to both our internal stakeholders and external clients. 

What You Will Do:


  • Lead and Manage:
  • Manage a team of engineers, unlocking their fullest potential by fostering professional growth and development.
  • Guide and mentor team members through regular 1:1s, technical and soft skills training, interpersonal mediation, goal setting and accountability, and yearly reviews.
  • Align team goals and initiatives with the overarching vision of the company.
  • Drive performance and ensure the achievement of measurable results.
  • Identify opportunities for team and process improvement. Implement strategic initiatives that enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and optimize team performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead by example with integrity, tenacity, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Interview and onboard new software engineers.
  • Technical Contributions:
  • Participate in technical architecture discussions and contribute as an individual contributor at a senior level.
  • Perform meticulous code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards and help train more junior engineers.
  • Serve as an unblocker for developers while promoting autonomy.
  • Continuous Learning and Collaboration:
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in engineering management and software development to drive innovation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and deliver high-impact features.

What We Are Looking For:


  • Managerial and Technical Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience managing high performing engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering as an Individual Contributor
  • Highly skilled in Ruby, React, GraphQL, SQL/Postgres or similar technologies
  • Deep understanding of OOP, programming best practices, DevX, Software Development Life Cycle
  • Highly skilled in architecting technical solutions
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions
  • An understanding of systems design and DevOps
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Personal Skills:
