ROLE


General Purpose


As an integral member of the Surface Preparation team, you will play a key role in supporting customer relations throughout the ordering, shipping, tracking, and delivery processes. This position also involves providing basic assistance with customer issues and contributing to a high standard of service excellence.

The position offers an hourly wage of $26 to $30, DOE (Depends on Experience), with bonus earning potential.


Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • Process, expedite, and input customer orders; complete required export documentation within company policies and guidelines to ensure successful order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and files; respond to inquiries and troubleshoot customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and SHAPE associates to support order completion and delivery.
  • Maintain computer files; prepare and distribute reports and documents as needed.
  • Assist customers with software registration.
  • Provide customers with part numbers for standard consumable parts upon request.
  • Offer basic troubleshooting support using standardized documentation and procedures.
  • Handle complex orders while collaborating with project teams.
  • Understand business strategy to manage high-level customer orders and challenges effectively.
  • Analyze customer buying behavior using CRM tools to identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Engage in aftermarket sales activities, including outbound calling and order processing.
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching potential accounts, building relationships, offering technical information, and preparing quotations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, fax, and email to close new accounts and ensure satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities


  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Training


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service and/or inside sales experience preferred.
