You’ll design and maintain high-performance data solutions, lead a small team of data engineers, and act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your work will help shape efficient data systems while fostering a collaborative and scalable team culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), SSIS, and SSAS.
- Develop data models and create Power BI visualizations to meet business needs.
- Ensure high performance, quality, and consistency across all data processes.
- Work across both legacy codebases and modern data solutions.
- Use Git for version control and contribute to a mature, evolving code base.
- Apply VB.NET and/or C# as needed to support existing systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems using tools like DataDog.
- Communicate effectively with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Guide and support a small data team in weekly sprint cycles and ticket delivery.
- Run daily standups and lead weekly Data Huddles to align and motivate the team.
- Triage issues, manage escalations, and prioritize workload across stakeholders.
- Promote shared documentation practices and continuous process improvements.
- Coach team members, monitor performance using Jira, and address bottlenecks.
- Foster growth through mentorship, training, and documentation in Confluence.
- Act as a primary point of contact between data, development, and support teams.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and data engineering environments.
- Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with Git for version control and DataDog (or similar tools) for monitoring.
- Experience working with VB.NET and/or C#.
- Demonstrated ability to manage or mentor small technical teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with sound judgement and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to work across both technical and business teams.
