Job Summary


This role reports up to Business Solutions which is a department includes the Strategy and Business Intelligence Groups. Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Vice President of Strategy & Analytics as part of the small, dynamic team that reports business results, informs strategic action, and implements special projects at a fast-pace growing mid-sized company. The scope of the Business Intelligence team includes:

Reporting and Data Visualization.

We design and architect the front-end for compelling, best-in-class data visualization solutions that support Client Service, Sales, Finance, Senior Leadership, and the Board.

Strategic Analytics.

We conduct detailed analysis to answer strategic business questions like understanding variations in Advisor productivity and Sales results, developing insights around client retention, measuring channel opportunity and creating a framework for prioritizing which geographies are most attractive for additional M&A.

Data Integration.

We combine data from a variety of sources and business areas; leveraging custom data pipelines (Python, SQL, etc.) to extract, transform, and load to our data warehouse. The BI team has a culture of collaborating to drive continuous reliability and automation enhancements in our reporting processes.

Essential Job Functions:


The Senior Analyst will have responsibility for collaborating with team members, functional groups, and the SLT to deliver insights and implement solutions across the company. Key technologies today are Salesforce, Tableau, Python, SQL Server and Microsoft Office.Areas of responsibility include:

  • Deliver Internal Client Solutions in “Full Stack” Data Environment – Partner with internal stakeholders to develop the data sources, dashboards, and data visualizations they require to deliver peak organizational performance. Team members are “full-stack” BI developers in the sense that we create our own ETL jobs and load tables in addition to creating reports and analyses.
  • Strategic Initiatives – Play role in executing key “needle mover” initiatives. Recent examples include:
  • New M&A Advisor Data Collection – Created a framework and implemented process for collecting detailed AUM data from new M&A advisors for annual ADV filing
  • Client Repricing – Develop process to identify relevant clients based on multiple criteria and facilitate program with subset of Advisors from kick-off to billing implementation
  • Incentive Compensation – We partner with Finance and HR to develop and adapt incentive compensation plans and help implement and administer the program.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving – The Senior Analyst should apply superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills, using strong judgment to identify which elements in a project are important and which are just noise or will have a negligible impact on the outcome. He or she should to be able to represent information in a compelling way that communicates the findings of an analysis both visually and in written form. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and PowerPoint skills will contribute to success.
  • Senior Leadership Team and Board Discussion Support – Translate analysis and trends into decks to support discussions of the Board of Directors and Leadership Team forums.

Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of data analytics, statistics, and/or reporting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a selective, accredited institution required (with preference to the fields of Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or STEM disciplines)
  • Successful completion of analytic coursework (e.g., economics, mathematics, physical sciences)
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience in Financial Services and with project leadership of analytical programs
  • Results-oriented with proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive with aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving
  • Exceptional and persuasive communicator and facilitator with the ability to effectively interface with executive management
  • Shows flexibility and adaptability in an environment with rapidly changing business and technology needs
  • Curiosity to learn new skills and eagerness to form new relationships
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server, Python, Salesforce, and Tableau.

Work Schedule:


This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.  At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.    All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.

Working Conditions:


This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions.  Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements.  Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
