dotCMS is a cloud-based Universal CMS that is changing how enterprises do digital. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Research and Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the evolution and stability of our platform by delivering scalable, reliable, and high-quality code. You will take ownership of feature implementations and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle.We're proud to be 100% remote! dotCMS has been fully remote for over a decade and as an employee, you may work remotely from any location that is compatible with standard U.S.

What you’ll bring to the team:
- Own the end-to-end development of complex product features—from requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs with minimal supervision, ensuring timely fixes and continuous system stability.
- Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Perform functional and integration testing using tools like Postman and Karate to validate feature accuracy and robustness.
- Support quality assurance efforts through manual testing and validation of feature completeness.
- Participate in peer code reviews to uphold high coding standards and share knowledge across the team.
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and product demos.
- Contribute to production support activities as needed, helping to monitor, triage, and resolve live issues.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders and demonstrate delivered features to internal teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and team collaboration.
- Ensure all code and processes comply with established security and data privacy requirements.
Why we get excited about you:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development, including core Java and frameworks.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with REST APIs and Docker (required).
- Exposure to front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, or React
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Working knowledge of manual QA practices.
- Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Familiarity with container orchestration concepts like Kubernetes would be a plus
