SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager, Project Delivery will play a dual role as both Project Manager and Scrum Master, driving the execution of key strategic initiatives across IT, product, operations, and clinical departments. This individual will be responsible for managing cross-functional projects using Agile methodology, leading sprint planning sessions, ensuring delivery of user stories, and aligning with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and with maximum value delivered to the business.This role requires a highly organized and technically fluent leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for driving execution, accountability, and agile excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, or a related field. PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent Agile certifications.
Experience:
Required: 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion in the healthcare, biotechnology, or genetics industry.
Preferred:
Extensive experience managing high-priority, cross-functional projects and leading project teams. Experience using Jira and Confluence for Agile delivery; prior work in biotech, healthcare, or diagnostics industry strongly preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Agile Project Delivery:
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more PODs, facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and BAs to ensure a well-groomed backlog and clear prioritization of work.
- Track progress and remove impediments for POD teams, escalating issues as needed.
Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional project initiatives from initiation through closeout.
- Define scope, create project plans and timelines, manage risks, and coordinate deliverables.
- Own and update project trackers and Smartsheet dashboards for transparency and accountability.
Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication:
- Facilitate alignment meetings with stakeholders and ensure expectations and outcomes are clearly defined.
- Regularly report project status to leadership, including blockers, milestones, and delivery metrics.
Tools & Technology:
- Administer Agile project tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet) for sprint tracking and documentation.
- Ensure project documentation, decision logs, and timelines are maintained and accessible to all stakeholders.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish operating mechanisms for sprint cadences, team check-ins, and stakeholder reporting.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, and Business teams to streamline workflows and improve throughput.
Additional Duties may include:
- Mentor junior project managers and BAs within the Project Delivery team.
- Support cross-functional efforts including resource forecasting, sprint health reporting, and KPI tracking.
- Drive SOP development and process optimization within the POD model.
