This full-time internship opportunity will contribute to assisting cross-functional projects related to the management of our in-force block of annuities and life insurance.Primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting projects by drafting and maintaining project specification documents.
- Providing input on business requirements.
- Developing testing plans for proposed updates.
- Providing feedback on testing results.
- Providing actuarial support for regulatory, agent and customer inquiries.
- Providing actuarial support to ensure administrative system calculations are consistent with contracts.
- Documenting and improving efficiency to processes.
- Supporting product related inquiries on reinsurance agreements.
This internship is ideally suited to a recent college graduate aiming to gain insights and exposure into the actuarial profession.
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related business discipline
- Prior experience in the financial services / insurance industry, or actuarial experience with annuities is preferred
- One actuarial exam passed or willingness to pursue actuarial profession
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical, detail oriented with problem- solving skills
- Strong desire to learn with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent computer skills are preferred: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, SQL Server, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Access, R, & Python is a plus.
Note: Applicants should have the availability to adhere to Venerable's hybrid in-office schedule at our West Chester, PA office and begin assignment during the summer of 2025 with extension of internship at least through year-end.
