HVAC Technician

HVAC Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This role ensures systems operate efficiently to maintain comfort, indoor air quality, and safety for building occupants.

Roles & Responsibilities


1. Installation


  • Install HVAC systems, including air handlers, ductwork, thermostats, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Calibrate systems and components to ensure optimal performance.

2. Maintenance


  • Conduct routine inspections and performance checks.
  • Replace filters, monitor refrigerant levels, and inspect electrical components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to prolong equipment life and efficiency.

3. Repair


  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues such as faulty thermostats, refrigerant leaks, and airflow problems.
  • Repair or replace components like compressors, motors, and coils.
  • Test and verify that systems operate at peak efficiency after repairs.

Qualification Requirements


Education & Experience:


  • Completion of a vocational program or HVAC apprenticeship required.
  • 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience preferred.

Certifications:


  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required)
  • NATE Certification (preferred)
  • State/Local HVAC License (as applicable)
  • Participation in continuing education or manufacturer training programs encouraged.
