About the jobSystems Engineer - 3D CAD Modeling, Analyses, and Mass PropertiesHouston, TexasOur long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems Engineer to join the 3D CAD modeling, analyses, and mass properties team on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).Intuitive Machines is an innovative and cutting-edge space company making cislunar space accessible to both public and private customers. Our world-class team includes experts in all aspects of spacecraft subsystems design, development, and test, on-orbit operations, and safety.Responsibilities:As a Systems Engineer on the 3D CAD modeling, analyses, and mass properties team, you will:Perform systems engineering and integration (SE&I) tasks for the International Space Station Program, with a focus on unpressurized payloads and systems.

This will involve:

  • Utilizing 3D CAD environments and configuration databases to execute SE&I tasks.
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks with minimal direction, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
  • Coordinating task-related data effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding.
  • Applying knowledge of product life cycle development, systems engineering and integration principles, and various engineering disciplines to your work.
  • Leveraging excellent integration, coordination, and presentation skills in your daily activities.
  • Contributing to the overall success of the 3D CAD modeling, analyses, and mass properties team.
  • Performing other duties as required to support program needs.
  • Some travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in the engineering industry.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate task data with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of product life cycle development, systems engineering and integration principles, and various engineering disciplines.
  • Possession of excellent integration, coordination, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ISS operations and planning.
  • Experience with Siemens NX 3DCAD Modeling Software.
  • Knowledge of Git, Python, and Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge of Space Exploration programs, including ISS, Artemis, Gateway, and their visiting vehicles.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
