Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for accurately recording Company performance on a day-to-day basis and assisting in the bi-weekly payroll process. The ideal candidate will have exceptional multitasking and organizational skills with an orderly and systematic approach to prioritizing and completing daily, weekly and monthly essential job functions. The position reports to the Corporate Controller and will be part of a growing finance/accounting team.
Scope of Role Responsibilities:
- Enter and maintain financial data to support general accounting operations.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and reconciliation of multi-company transactions.
- Prepare and manage monthly account reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support during the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation.
- Generate customer invoices and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Serve as a backup for accounts payable functions through cross-training.
- Analyze financial data and communicate key trends and insights.
- Assist with special projects and respond to ad hoc reporting requests.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Experience using NetSuite, preferred but not required.
- Understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
- Great attitude, coachable and positive demeanor.
- Thrives in a dynamic fast-paced environment and demonstrates initiative when faced with challenges and competing priorities.
- Ability and willingness to develop knowledge of other software and database management systems as needed.
- Must be able to handle confidential materials with discretion. Reliable, trustworthy and insightful, with a strong moral compass.
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel is required.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
