GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor’s primary responsibilities will be the following: Provide clinical oversight for the designated Behavioral Health clinical team under the direction of their Supervisors. Provide individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with and/or the regulatory standards and guidelines of CBH, DDAP and OMHSAS to both licensed and unlicensed Behavioral Health Staff in various environments and modalities. The emphasis of the Behavioral Health services is multi-faceted and includes meeting clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity, ensuring proper care is being provided in accordance with service delivery contracts and providing ongoing clinical staff development.
Duties may include establishing of clinical practice policy, case consultation, creating and reviewing clinical documentation and facilitating in-service training, oversight and management of mental health outpatient services. Collaboration with other departments is a vital component of the Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor role. The position can also include direct service by way of individual, family and group therapy to APM clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervision a. Provide minimum one-hour individual supervision for therapist a month b. Provide minimum one-hour group supervision a month to therapists in the team c. Both must be documented within 48 hours of providing supervision d. Conduct case consultation conferences with doctor and clinicians and timely document the details on EHR e. Implementation of the policies and procedures for the operation of the psychiatric outpatient clinic processes in compliance with all Federal, State, County, and Funder requirements 2.
Case load a. Provide therapeutic services to a caseload using a variety of therapeutic modalities b. Manage a team of 15 clinicians or minimum 1500 billing units biweekly. (750 weekly)3. Case load review every month for all therapists in the team a. Discharges completed every 60 days of not receiving therapy services b. Labs up to date for all clients (90 days) c. Treatment plans are compliant with Dr. diagnosis in the recent evaluation d. Releases and other relevant documentations are up to date e. Therapists have sufficient caseload f. All therapists providing minimum 2 sessions a month to a client g. Therapist are spending 70% of their work time at office h. Encouraging in-person services i. All services requiring signatures are in –person (exceptional case must be documented) j. Diagnosis is updated on Credible soon after Dr evaluation k. CBR completed every year for every client l. Diagnosis entered in Credible during the Intake session m. All documentations including treatment plans, evaluations are completed within 07 days with therapist, client and Dr signature. n. All services fully documented (signatures) within 7 days and ready for billing4. Training a. Get list of all mandated trainings from Admin Director at the beginning of the year b. Follow up on training every month during the supervisions c. All therapists and supervisor complete the required trainings within 10 months (by October 31st) d. Make sure therapists complete 10 hours of training (25 hours for DA) a calendar year apart from the mandatory trainings e. Make appropriate training recommendations for the clinicians f. Supervisor completes Performance evaluation and Individual training plans for all in November g. Make sure clinicians signed up for evidence based training follow the protocol and are certified. h. After certified in EBP, clinicians must provide these therapies to clients i. Supervisor will train clinicians in all documentations used at APM5. Billing a. Supervisor must collect the billing cycle schedule from billing supervisor Jo Ann Rivera b. All therapists must send billing sheet within 72 hours of providing service c. All therapists must send Timesheet before the billing closing date and time d. All services must be completed on Credible within 07 days from the day of service including all signatures (therapist, client, Dr). Not complying to this policy will result in loss of payment for the therapist. 6. Documentation a. Supervisor must review all Treatment plans, CBE-1, Intakes, family/ couple/ group therapy and approve for billing b. Supervisor must review progress notes randomly to ensure they are in compliance with Dr diagnosis in the evaluation and treatment plan goals c.
Complete case consultations with therapists and Dr (if needed) and document in Credible within 48 hours d. Complete incident reports for CBH and APM and send the documentation to Admin Director7. Supervision/ meetings with Directors a. Must be available for meetings with Directors once a week for 1-2 hours and as needed. b. Must submit a weekly report during the meeting8. Other duties as assignedRequirements
- A licensed mental health clinician or minimum a Master’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline, such as: psychology, counseling, clinical social work, psychiatric nursing, or marriage and family therapy. The Master’s Degree must include clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services.
- If coursework is part of a medical degree, there must be clear evidence that the course was directly related to the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders rather than medical conditions. Appropriate medical degrees/training will include substantial training in mental health disorders; medical degrees that are behavioral health-related usually include a residency in psychiatry
- A minimum of two (2) years verified post-master’s paid experience providing behavioral health treatment of a clinical nature, including psychotherapy, counseling, and assessment. If the supervisor if supervising clinicians treating children, the experience must be with children.
IMPORTANT: APM requires all new hires to obtain the following clearances: FBI, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background, and Medical/TB Test.
