Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Windows Server Administrator to join our team. This is an on-site position supporting global on-premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal server performance, security, and reliability by managing system operations, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with internal teams. This role requires strong expertise in Windows Server environments and offers the opportunity to work with diverse technologies.This is an on-site, in-office position.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Management: Install, configure, test, and maintain Windows server operating systems, applications, patches, and upgrades.
- IIS Administration: Manage IIS web servers, including deployment, configuration, and SSL certificate management.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor server performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify areas for improvement, including automating routine tasks.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and maintain robust backup solutions to ensure data protection and disaster recovery readiness.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, manage access controls, and support patch management to protect sensitive data.
- Documentation: Create and update system documentation, including installation procedures, troubleshooting tips, and technical diagrams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network, application, and IT teams to implement projects and resolve escalated issues.
- On-Call Support: Share 24/7 on-call rotation duties to troubleshoot and resolve critical server-related issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator in a multi-site, hybrid cloud enterprise environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019+) and system services like Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Expertise in IIS administration and web server technologies.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automating administrative tasks.
- Strong understanding of backup and restore tools (e.g., Veeam) and disaster recovery processes.
- Familiarity with remote management protocols and tools (e.g., RDP, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE or VCP are a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with non-Windows technologies (e.g., Linux, Macintosh, mobile devices).
- Knowledge of configuration management and documentation practices.
- Ability to evaluate and implement IT vendor products effectively.
