THE OPPORTUNITY:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director in Legal Solution Engineering. This role is pivotal in overseeing the development and implementation of legal engineering in GenAI-driven legal solutions, ensuring quality and efficiency in our processes, and managing a team of legal engineers and solution engineers.
You will be at the forefront of integrating advanced GenAI tools into legal workflows, working closely with various teams to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solution Design and Development:
Legal Use Cases: Design and develop solutions for a range of legal use cases, ensuring they meet client needs and industry standards.Bespoke Solutions: Develop technical specifications and architecture for proposed solutions and legal scenarios.System Integration and Testing:
Incorporation of Legal Knowhow: Work alongside development, product, and engineering teams to develop legal systems.Testing and Deployment: Test new developments rigorously and collaborate with the team to sign off and deploy them to production.Evaluation and Improvement:
Evaluation: Evaluate existing solutions to ensure their effectiveness and make necessary improvements.Business Use Cases: Collaborate with business and product professionals to understand broader business use cases and design prompts and solutions accordingly.Legal and Contract Models:
Risk Frameworks: Lead the establishment of new legal and contract models and risk frameworks to be supported by the product team.Training and Development:
User Training: Design and execute training sessions for both internal and external users on GenAI products and prompt engineering.Model Training: Assist in building, testing, and validating new models and use cases, and help train proprietary models as needed.Client Engagement:
Legal Expertise: Provide legal expertise and solutions in product-related discussions, both internally and externally. Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and technical requirements.Product Demos: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase how the solution can address client challenges.Travel: Travel to customer or partner sites as required to support client engagement and lead solution-focused efforts.REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:1.Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in law.15+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer.Professional Legal Technology Experience:
Extensive experience in contract reviews, drafting, negotiation, and knowledge management in a commercial law sphere.Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.Demonstrated involvement in sales activities, including client engagement and business development.Significant experience leading projects, particularly those involving legal solutions and GenAI.Skills and Interests:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A deep interest in commercial contracting processes and their applications in the legal industry.Experience presenting, moderating, and participating in legaltech conferences, roundtables, and panel discussions.Legal Solution Engineering Expertise:
Proficient in the application of legal solution engineering principles to streamline and optimize legal processes.Experience in developing and implementing GenAI-driven legal solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in legal tasks.Skilled in prompt engineering and in integrating multiple GenAI models to address complex legal challenges and improve decision-making.Familiarity with the latest advancements in legal technology and their practical applications in a legal context.Ability to collaborate with technical teams to design and deploy innovative legal tools and platforms.Strong analytical skills to assess the impact of GenAI solutions on legal workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.This is a unique opportunity to lead legal solution engineering at the cutting edge of legal technology, using GenAI to transform commercial drafting, negotiations, and contracting processes.
