Chief Accountant / Lead Accountant

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🚀
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Dutch GAAP reporting in line with the group month-end closing deadlines and policies.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Cost and Inventory Accounting, Revenue and Expenses Recognition.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of local tax reporting.
- Lead local mandatory audit (if any).
- Lead local tax audit (if any).
- Lead local part of global group audit.
- Monitor & implement accounting and tax law changes.
- Lead local accounting & tax automation projects.
- Execute basic financial analysis on local performance.
- Manage relations and processes with accounting and tax vendors.
- Maintaining, creating, and updating company policies in compliance with local legislation and internal company global regulations.
- Lead local payments processes and manage treasury operations.
- Liaise with banks, external consultants, and an expanding network of service providers.
- Enhance internal controls through documenting and refining business processes and accounting policies.
- Participation in company and department projects.
- Support and back-up the finance team in other locations (initially it will include Serbian subsidiary)
- Report to EMEA Finance manager.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING 💥
Must haves
- Proven working experience in a similar role, specifically as an Deputy Chief Accountant, Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Manager, Senior Auditor.
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or Economics.
- Experience with month-end/year-end closing cycles and audit processes for several companies simultaneously.
- Team management experience.
- Project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch and EU tax legislation, experience in tax administration, and tax control.
- Experience working with treasury tools and banks.
Nice to haves
- Experience with US GAAP, IFRS, Serbian GAAP
- Experience with financial statements consolidation
- Experience with Exact, ABSoft software
- Knowledge and/or experience with a control framework
- Experience working in start-up environment
- CPA, ACCA or any other internationally recognised professional certification in finance
- Develops, implements & maintains fin control environment to mitigate risks and maintain operational integrity
- Presentation skills
