Job Overview


We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of

Associate Director EH&S Facilities Management


Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with operational, core research, and manufacturing objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, IATA, RCRA, and other relevant regulations, acting as liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Lead EHS risk management initiatives, including hazard assessments, emergency response programs, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, engaging cross-functional teams and leadership to integrate EHS into daily operations.

Key Core Competencies


  • Assist with the strategic planning, maintenance, policy and procedure and optimization of facilities to support business objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Lead Core Research Support Services, provide laboratory equipment management support, laboratory services and operational support to the operation of onsite laboratories.  
  • Collaborate on capital projects, including laboratory and office relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and facility projects, ensuring seamless integration of EHS functions, permitting, and operational readiness.
  • Manage outsourced and in-house facilities and EHS service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality operations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance facility sustainability, energy efficiency, and waste reduction programs.
  • Develop and oversee EHS and facilities training programs, ensuring competency and engagement.
  • Lead and mentor EHS and Facilities personnel, fostering professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain metrics and KPIs to measure and enhance EHS performance, compliance readiness, and facility operations efficiency.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum 8 – 12 (w/o Master’s) or 6 – 8 years (with Master’s) years of relevant experience with progressive EHS and Facilities leadership experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, R&D, or manufacturing environments.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), COSM, ASP, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, IATA, NFPA, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Experience leading facility operations and sustainability initiatives.
  • Proven track record in incident reduction, risk management, and safety culture transformation.
  • Excellent executive communication, strategic planning, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with EHS, Facilities, R&D, Manufacturing, HR, and senior leadership.

The base salary range for this role is $140,500 to $175,600.   Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state.  Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
