This position is based on-site at our Denton, Texas fulfillment center.


About the Role


Hungryroot is looking for a Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our growing Operations Team. As a Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor, this individual will be responsible for the fulfillment center’s food safety and quality programs. This role will report to our VP of Food Safety, and partner with other team members to ensure the fulfillment center meets all internal and government food safety, regulatory, and quality standards. 
The FSQA Supervisor needs to be highly motivated, possess a strong attention to detail, and demonstrate a working knowledge of process control. This role must follow all health and safety standards and comply with all GMPs. 

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for upholding and training on the Food Safety and Quality program at the Indy Fulfillment Center.
  • Perform requirements of GMP, Pest Control, Traceability, Temperature and other audits.  A daily documentation of all FSQA concerns in the appropriate log book or forms, audit checks and paperwork, and provide corrective recommendations if required.   Including management of the Pest Control third party service.
  • Assist in the sanitation management of the facility.
  • Perform receiving product checks, including trailer inspection (cleanliness, temperature, overall conditions), box and pallet inspection (intact, undamaged), product appearance & temperature, and adherence to product purchasing specifications including detailed produce inspections.
  • Perform testing of quality of product and process control points defined by the Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Reject or retain food products that exceed acceptance criteria. 
  • Perform in-process checks of products [including produce] that include date coding and quality checks.
  • Manage the customer complaint tracker and investigation process.
  • Provide technical support for cross-functional teams to ensure company quality and food safety standards compliance.
  • Establish, maintain and promote good communications with all departments and levels of management
  • Performs other tasks and duties as needed.

Qualifications


  • Able to work in-person at our Denton facility 5 days a week
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or a related field [HS degree with at least 4 years of experience will be considered]
  • Minimum of 2 years working in Food Safety and Quality in manufacturing, fulfillment center or warehouse
  • Strong Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP certified, FSMA- PCQI, GMPs, SQF)
  • USDA and FDA product experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, Airtable and Netsuite experience preferred
  • Must be able to work in various climates (0 F - 34 F) and stand on feet for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Spanish Bilingual is a plus.

Expected Pay Range:$70,000- $80,000
