Summary:


The Digital Marketing Associate oversees building, executing, and reporting on outbound email communications for The Philadelphia Orchestra. Working closely with the various departments across the organization, the Digital Marketing Associate will ensure all email marketing initiatives are scheduled and deployed. Together with the Director of E-Marketing Optimization and Innovation, this position will adhere to email marketing best practices, including CAN-SPAM compliance. The Digital Marketing Associate will also explore new concepts and strategies to best leverage email marketing to achieve a variety of goals ranging from ticket sales to fundraising and brand-building.

The role will work to influence behaviors through email marketing while reporting on key performance data to review and determine effectiveness. This role will focus solely on The Philadelphia Orchestra portfolio of performances and initiatives and is expected to uphold The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc. brand’s mission, values, and vision. This role will also cross-train on Kimmel Cultural Campus email communications. 

Essential Functions:


  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to develop necessary email campaigns that promote engagement with brand and the organization 
  • Create, manage, and utilize a library of email templates 
  • Maintain email calendar for sends 
  • Coordinate with marketing team to gather copy and assets 
  • Build and deploy email communications through Salesforce Marketing Cloud 
  • Work with Digital Marketing leadership team on appropriate email campaign segmentation, and ideate and test new email marketing and journey concepts
  • Create and manage automated email marketing campaigns and journeys
  • Run email planning meetings 
  • Monitor and report on email marketing send data 
  • Identify enhancements to email marketing initiatives based on reporting and analysis 
  • Adhere to email marketing best practices and CAN-SPAM requirements 
  • Maintain requirements for submission guidelines and processes 
  • Assist with image and graphic resizing for email campaigns as needed 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


  • 1-2 years’ experience working with Digital Marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a focus in Marketing
  • A consumer of email marketing content––know the techniques that are most effective in engaging consumers 
  • Understand a mobile-first email marketing strategy 
  • Ability to work with multiple cross-department teams and coordinate efficiently 
  • Familiarity with an email marketing tool such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Constant Contact, or similar a plus 
  • Base knowledge of HTML a plus 
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices and standards 
  • General understanding of email marketing key performance indicators 

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands:


Routine for office environment. Some nights/weekends may be required to assist with concerts/events.
